Staying safe

• Meet in a public place in daylight, and bring someone with you.
• This is a neighborhood festival — if you know the poster, or a neighbor who does, that's the easiest handover there is.
• Keep it in these messages until the claim checks out — you never need to hand over a phone number or address.
• Never send money, a deposit or a "release fee" to get something back, and be wary of anyone offering to send a courier — that's a classic scam.
• If anything feels wrong, just walk away. For anything criminal, call the police non-emergency line.
