King Sexy
Grunge
It began in late 2003 where Jeff Coleman (who played drums for Seizure, Bombsite Boys, Clusterfuck, Sonic Supercharger 66) picked up his Fender Strat and banged out some riffs. On Christmas Day, 2003, he recorded and played the drums, bass, guitars, & vocal tracks on a 4-track in his bedroom. The result? King Sexy. Inspired by Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters), Stacy Jones (American Hi-Fi), & Tommy Lee (Motley Crue). If they can switch from drums to guitar, then so can Jeff!!
A line up got completed in the Fall of 2004. For the next six years, there has been some line up changes. Yet, since 2014, a line up has been steady with Jeff (Guitar/Vocals), Frank Z (Guitar), Jim LoPresti (Drums), & Ray Z (Bass). King Sexy has released “Like a Dog in Heat” 12 Song CD (2006), “In Sexycolor” 5 Song CD EP (2009), “Live Like a Dog In Sexycolor” Live Cassette (2014), “Open Wide and Say EWW!!” 11 Song CD (2017), NY Dolls Tribute CD, "Whipped Dolls", and “Are You Sexy Enough?” 8 Song 12” EP (2024). In 2010, King Sexy did a mini tour playing 5 shows around CT, PA, and NYC. Since then, King Sexy played a slew of gigs in CT & NYC. They have played at the Black Rock Porch Fest since 2018 (always a great time!!), and have played at Park City Music Hall in December 2024 to commemorate their 20th Anniversary. With more shows happening (yet scarce), things just keep getting better and better.
